Financial education fosters financial stability for individuals, families, and entire communities. The more people know about credit and banking services, the more likely they are to increase savings, buy homes, and improve their financial health and well-being.”

Studies conducted by annuity.org in August 2022 show that 75% of American teens lack confidence in their knowledge of personal finance; 73% of teens reported wanting more personal finance education in 2021; 41% of teens don't know what a 401K is and 32% of teens don't know the difference between a credit card and debit card.  Lastly, while only about half of teens said they learned personal finance from school, the majority said they learned from their parents.

This suggests that there is a need to provide more financial education to teach kids about money.  Understanding financial literacy among young people is thus of critical importance for policy makers in several areas; it can aid those who wish to devise effective financial education programs targeted at young people as well as those writing legislation to protect younger consumers.

Foundation of HOPE, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in January 2011, offering an array of financial literacy workshops to help participants build assets and work toward realistic financial goals. We concentrate our efforts on group sessions as we collaborate with other agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Our goal is to help people build stronger financial futures, and to teach youth and young adults, in high school and beyond, the fundamentals of financial planning.
